Wednesday 20 May - river trip ideas? We rather rashly suggested running a river trip on the third Wednesday of each month for a bit of variety, so we should start thinking about something for two weeks' time to give everyone enough notice.
Any ideas? Realistically we won't be able to start on the river before 19:00, and sunset will be 21:13.

Having checked out tide times it would seem that good dates for doing Chester Weir would be the 27th May and the 10th June. Another possibility could be the Goyt.

I won't be out on the 27th (I will be at a meeting in Bristol on the last Wednesday of every "odd" month for the foreseeable future) but don't let that stop you.
Goyt sounds possible. I've not done it but I know you have - assume you'd be looking to get out at the MCC site?

There's another get out beyond MCC site at a garden centre (easy portage over a dodgy weir) if you want to check that out for a slightly longer trip.

OK, bin that idea.
We decided last night that it's still not feasible to organise anything other than at Burrs until we get a bit more light in the evenings, so we'll be at Burrs again on the 20th.
See you all there.

WEd 20 may evening paddleHow about considering paddling down to Burrs from Summerseat - distance of about 3 miles - generally easy apart from a broken weir.
We could still meet at the usual time and then shuffle cars - approximately 10 minutes.

There's a chance I won't be able to get out this week, so it would be the perfect day for a Rammy run!

Sounds like a good idea, but we do need plenty of water. Jon made friends with some of the local kids last time (so make sure your helmets are on secure)

Back from holiday so should be out on Wednesday! Think that this'll be the second time I'll have paddled this year, hopefully I'll remember what to do..
6.30 at Burrs?
