Wednesday 15/07/09 - Annual General Meeting

Next week is the club's Annual General Meeting, I have booked the upstairs function room in the Brown Cow. All members are welcome, you should have had formal email notice and an agenda by now.

This will kick-off as near to 8:30 as we can given that many will want a paddle. I'm not going to guess how long the meeting will last but there is not a great deal of formal business to get through. It's really down to how much AOB we want to get bogged down in, considering that day-to-day organisation is really for committee meetings.

I have sent out a draft, revised constitution and have received no further comments, if you do want to discuss or suggest further changes (or any further additions to the agenda), please email or ring me ASAP.

Any non-members who want to paddle next week should bear in mind that the club won't be on the water for long, finishing at 8:00 ish, and that attendance at the AGM is obviously for members only.

It's unlikely that I'll be there early enough to paddle myself as I'll be in Derby next Wednesday. Anyone who needs to borrow a boat or other gear from me please get in touch ASAP so something can be arranged.

I'll be down next Wednesday, but just for the meeting.

LAST CHANCE for anyone who needs to borrow boats/paddles/gear from me for this week. If you shout now then I can get it to someone else or you can collect it from me tomorrow evening.

Otherwise I'll be arriving sometime around 7:30 with nothing more than an A4 pad and some freshly-sharpened pencils.

I had an accident with my bank account, i spilled money all over brookbanks' floor, and some how ended up with a boat in my posession, i shall be trying it out for good measure...

Last week after coming off the river I noticed a small drop of blood on my leg, the result of hitting a rock during our silly rescue session at the end (or so I thought), in reality I had been bitten by some little beastie and on Friday had to take myself to a NHS drop-in centre due to a very swollen leg, feeling of sickness etc; the good doctor gave me a prescription for penicillin and an anti-allergy drug.  Unfortunately, the penicillin sorted out my leg infection but has had some side effects and to cut a long story short I won't be paddling Weds.  I will however, be at the AGM and will also watch Mike try out his new boat from the side.
