Warm and sunny Burrs, 7 May

Last night the sun brought out a good crowd - eight members and one prospective member.

The level was low - I've seen it lower but not by much, but that was good for Fiona & Conor, both getting some practice for Wagon lane slalom this Sunday (at least when Conor stopped talking!)

There were no swims (I'll repeat that - NO SWIMS) and the newcomer, Teresa, seemed to enjoy herself, including a slide down the big weir.

Next week is planned to be a surfing session at Crosby, but Carl will either confirm this or suggest an alternative here, once he's double checked the tides.

The level was much lower than I have ever seen it but the weather was fantastic (why can't we have good levels and sun!).  I have opened a discussion on going to Crosby and it looks like that we should be able to get in the sea without walking halfway to Wales, but I'm not going to promise really big waves.

Was an enjoyable night....good confidence builder.
Paying for it today having aggravated my dodgy shoulder...could put me in doubt for Sunday but I'll come over no matter what to cheer on Team Westhoughton.
