Wagon Lane slalom 11/05/08 (PICTURES ONLINE)**& RESULTS*We were on the far side of the Pennines today. Fiona, Conor & myself entered the Div 4 slalom at Wagon Lane, near Bradford and brought along our respective fan clubs. Jon & Caroline also turned up, offering moral support and fully equipped with deckchairs and the Sunday papers.
All of us enjoyed ourselves, the weather was glorious, and this time I think I did manage to be the fastest Veteran. The top three were promoted - I came fourth.
I'll look out for the results and photos and post the link here.
I don't think we'll run any more "official" club trips to slalom events this year, but if there's any interest then we can always get a small group together for another race.

The official photographer’s pictures from yesterday are now on the web here:

Fiona’s pictures are 12 and 222 – 223, Conor is 138 – 141 and I’m at 13, 14 and 142-145.
It usually takes a few days before the results are published on the canoe slalom website

Again, scroll down to Div 4 K1 Men & Div 4 K1 Women (not sure where CTG came from).
As I said above, I thought that the top three were promoted, but today a promotion certificate came through the post, so now I'm in Div 3. This means I'll have to paddle against people who know what they're doing in future, and I'll have to use a big pointy boat.

Never mind, at least you won't have far to travel when you take part in the 2012 event!

Not sure there's a veteran's event in the Olympics!
