Sale Water Park 23rd FebruaryMel, Graham and myself spent a couple of hours paddling up and down Sale Water Park, we practised all the basic flatwater moves and looked at towing techniques. We were not allowed on the usual end of the lake (where the Island is), due to the fact that a number of trees are at risk of falling into the water, however, we had the place to ourselves, without the usual sailing boats or powercraft.
At the end of the session Graham did his first cold water* roll and then a few minutes later did his second (well done Graham). We all finished with a seal launch off the jetty.
It is interesting to note that the recent high water in the Mersey has shifted things around a fair bit and the rapid at the 'get out' looks completely different, we didn't go on the river but from the bank it looked liked it will be a fair challenge to get on the wave.
*the water was the coldest I have ever experienced at Sale, but this is what happens when you paddle there in February!
