Logos & slogansThere has been talk elsewhere on the forum about both membership cards and T-shirts.
To make these look good then we really need a logo, so here is your chance to get all artistic and come up with something we can use. If we get enough ideas then we can have a vote on which we best like the look of. So post your pictures on here – if you can’t, for any reason, then email them to me if they’re electronic, or give me a paper copy which I can scan and I’ll post it here on your behalf.
I know Jason has had some ideas, and I've had a go too (which I'll post later) but let’s see what the rest of you have to offer. The more the merrier, so try to come up with a few ideas if you can. Don’t worry about how rough they are; I’m sure we could make the selected design neat enough before using it. You can use crayons if they won’t let you have anything sharper.
If anyone has been through this sort of thing before, advice is encouraged, but I guess the basic ground rules would be:
•Simple, and easily reproduced at large (T-shirt) & small (membership card) sizes.
•As few colours as possible, and something which would show up on light or dark backgrounds. (a simple one-colour design might be easiest, which could be printed light on dark backgrounds, or dark on light backgrounds)
•No copyright images, and please don’t steal ideas from other sources
A snappy, catchy (smart-alec) slogan would be an idea too, so please submit some ideas for that. My proposal is “Keawyeds in Kayaks”, although that needs explaining to most people. Before I took the website on, the old version had a cow’s head logo with “Houghton Wavers” on it, again a bit local unless you’re heavily into folk music. I’ll see if I can find that logo to post up, but I don’t know who drew it.
Non-serious entries are welcome, they might spark a good idea in someone else’s head, but after a brief discussion last night came up with some “non-family friendly” acronyms, please don’t post anything potentially offensive here, the children might be watching (share it with the rest of us on a Wednesday).
So, steal the kids’ pencil box and let your creative side loose. No closing date at the moment, let's see what response we get.

My effort. For what it's worth, this was my attempt:
Another option is this, from the top of the club poster:
Any logo could be combined with the website URL which is at the top of this page and each web-page (this could be on the back of a T-shirt).
OK, let's see your efforts.
