June novices tripBy the time we get to June the outdoor sessions at the Burrs should have turned our beginners into novice paddlers and it will be time to have an 'away day'. The River Ure in Yorkshire is ideal for this, comprising two sets of rapids at the start and finish (grade 3) with mostly flatwater in between. To get an idea follow the links below.
There are some weirs in between the rapids and of these one is a portage, boths sets of rapids can also be walked around if you wanted to as well.
There is an access agreement in force which means there are only two dates in June that we could go on the river:
Sunday 14th and Saturday 27th.

Good idea, it was a great run last year and ideal for improving novices.

I would just like to say that if this will be on then i will be there.
When it has been arranged i will mark it down in my diary so i dont plan something else.

Flat bits? Is the same one me and Graham did last year? Perhaps I still had my eyes closed after the drops!
I can do the 27th, but not the 14th if this fits in with anyone else?
Any chance of making this a weekend thing? The campsite looked nice and in easy distance of the river

We could make a weekend of it, you are allowed to paddle on the final rapid next to the campsite at any time and there are a few other rivers close by as well. What do people think?
