July tripLast year we tried to organise trips on the second weekend of every month and whist we have done a trip evey month this year we are a little out of sync. It is difficult this time of year due to holidays and water levels but we could look to a trip in the Lakes in July. If members want to publish their free dates here then we can perhaps start to plan something. For myself I would be able to make the last weekend only. As some members have some time off during the week, we could also perhaps try and do a midweek paddle, although to be fair this would not be an official trip.

Would this be in addition to the possible rescue course / bala weekend?

Only have the 19th July free. Will be up in the lakes (Capenwray) on the Saturday anyway so could meet you Sat evening and paddle Sunday.

At the moment, I'm free for weekends 11/12 July & 25/26 July.
Be good to do another weekender!

The only day I can make in July is Saturday 25th.
I think August is probably a write off for me and I'll post something on the September thread when I figure out what I can do then.

I think it was decided last night that we would do something in the Lake District on 25 July. Since at least one of our number wanted an early finish, I suggest a nice early start.
What we do will be water-dependant, even more so at the end of July, so we might end up deciding on the day.
Options include:
The Rothay (Carl has done this but it needs water)
http://www.ukriversguidebook.co.uk/nwengland/rothay.htm
The Greta (access agreement is OK for summer, in any case it'll be my fault!)
http://www.ukriversguidebook.co.uk/nwengland/greta.htm
The mid-Derwent (not done this, but it seems to be easy paddling and access is OK)
http://www.ukriversguidebook.co.uk/nwengland/derwentderwentwater.htm
Not strictly the Lakes, but there are grade II sections of the Lune we could do
http://www.ukriversguidebook.co.uk/nwengland/lunerigmaden.htm
Or if it's rained we could stay at home and do a Rammy run. If it's really dry we could paddle on a lake.

Sorry, got my dates wrong - no need to rush back on the 25th now!
Cheers anyway.

Looks like the Lune is out if we don't want to be shot at:

Sounds like a good trip we could plan for the winter though.

Suggest we meet at Lancaster Services (after Junction 32 M6) at around 9am and then decide where to go. More discussion on Weds

It's looking like rain in the Lakes at the back end of the week, so there could be a few options (depending on who will be going).
I won't be out this Wednesday so I'll watch this space.

Saturday MeetingHi Dave,
Yes, it might be better to meet at Westhoughton pool car park. What time do you think?
Are you picking Teresa up from the pool or from her house?
Thanks
(Looking forward to the trip now the weather has improved!)
