Cliffhanger, SheffieldJason, his mate from work and myself spent the day at Cliffhanger. Bought a paddling tee shirt and we watched Sheffield Canoe Club introducing beginners but otherwise there was nothing really worth doing from a paddling point of view. The event itself was okay but biased towards the 'drier' mountain sports, but then there was a clue in the name. We watched a world record being broken in an event involving jumping across a climbing wall (2.75 metres at an angle of around 40 degrees). I got my shoulder looked at in free physio session and Jason and friend bought some climbing gear. If Brookbank were there (as advertised) we couldn't find them but overall the day wasn't a complete waste of time. Of interest was a leaflet I picked up about the River Nidd 5 weir walk, with canoe ingress/egress points noted, this could a potential beginners' trip for the future.
