Burrs Monday 17th AugustAnother great night on the water, Carl Graham Darren Phil and myself had a nice gentle paddle down a very low river.
This did not stop us having what was probbably the best laugh I have had since I started paddling a year ago.
We played in the weir both with and without paddles and went down all the drops (apart from the broken weir) backwards fighting to be first to get on the wave.
At the squirt spot we all attempted to stand our boats on end resulting in most of us rolling quite a few times. This then encouraged Darren to do a few practice rolls with no problems. (still couldnt get Phil to have a go).
Unfortunately Darren didnt have as much joy rolling under the road bridge where he came out a couple of times closely followed by Graham.
Phil decided this earnt Darren the coverted title SON OF SWIMMER award
From here it was down to the last wave for another epic battle and then up the hill for a refreshing drink.
Great night with a great bunch of people.

I told you i m saving it for the pool cos i ll just get wound up with it, Steve said this was a good idea. honest
Anyway back to Darren he defo earned the son of swimmers as he fell out of his boat getting in it. and he still hasnt owned up yet on the forum.
There was no rescue though as we couldnt get to him for laughing at him
