Burrs 18/06/08This week's session was unusual due to the fact that the river had water in it. Not a massive level but good enough to get back into some moving water playing. I get the impression that our current batch of novices is starting to get a good feel for moving water and are pushing themselves. Next stop the Tryweryn?
It was raining for some of the evening, and temperatures were lower than you would expect, but there was a reasonable turn-out (9-ish I think). Although I got off slightly early with Conor, I don't think anyone took a swim despite the speed of the water.

The water was lower than I thought it would be given the amount of rain on Wednesday but it still provided entertainment. We are doing the Ure soon but I think we should also try and get our 'novices' on the Washburn sometime as well. I will keep people posted.

I'm not sure of it was the water level or the big bar of chocolate I had before paddling, but thought Wednesday was the best session we / I've had for a while.
I'm aware that after writing this, I've jinxed myself and will probably spend the next few sessions either upside down or one eddy down from everyone else!
