August tripsMel has suggested the weekend of the 15/16th of August, Steve and myself can't make this but there is nothing to stop other club members form going out. As with my July trips post I think we are going to have to be flexible during the holiday/dry season. Any suggestions or alternative/extra dates here please.

This is going to be a difficult month to organise any formal paddling, so I suggest that members discuss any plans here or during Wednesday sessions and then make some informal arrangements.
For information I have posted Washburn () release dates below. I should be able to make the last one.
Sunday 2nd. Aug. Sunday Cruise – Green Star CC * Sh R 9.00 – 5.00 p.m. Esther Mathews
Wednesday 12th. Aug. Evening Cruise 4:30 – 8.30 p.m. Norman Taylor
Sunday 23rd. Aug. Sunday Cruise – Lower Wharfe CC * 9.00 – 5.00 p.m. Dennis Fothergill

The Washburn is a fast flowing dam release river in Yorkshire and whilst not that techinical, there are several big drops and any swim is likely to be long, as eddies are difficult to make.
There are a number of videos on Youtube, this one was one submitted by Steve, and give you an idea, if you fancy going to the Washburn but are not sure if you are up for it, simply ask!

Another possiblity is going to Mile End Mill.
