12 March - Doug Ammons talk at BrookbankOn Thursday 12 March, Brookbank will be presenting a talk by the American hard-core whitewater paddler Doug Ammons. I've just read an article by him in this month's Canoe & Kayak and I reckon it would be worth going. The blurb from Brookbank's site says:
| Quote: | Doug Ammons is one of America's most famous white water paddlers - known for his outrageous solo descents of Class V+ and VI runs and especially the Grand Canyon of the Stikine. Doug is an award winning writer and photographer and perhaps the most articulate and inspiring paddler in the world today.
This is an evening that will entertain, thrill, and leave you mentally hung out to dry! Book early!
Doug will be signing his latest books "Whitewater Philosophy" and "Stikine" with ALL proceeds to Nepali charities. |
Kick off is 7:30, the charge is £5.00 and the website suggests booking in advance (but then it would, wouldn't it?). Anybody interested?

Phil, Lisa
I've booked the tickets for both of you & myself, they should arrive in time for me to get them to you next week. Anyone else interested is probably best getting in touch with Brookbank at Stockport directly.
