In previous years we have continued to organise formal trips at the weekend at least once a month and in addition informal arrangements have been made to meet up at the Burrs, usually Saturday or Sunday mornings. October's trip is organised by Chris at the Tees, but I wouldn't mind trying to get out again.
The last few trips have involved a little bit of whitewater paddling so members may want something easier later next month. So let me know what you would like. The winter programme will probably look something like this:
November: Halton Rapids
December: Lakes
January: North Wales (not the Trweryn or Mile End Mill, there are other rivers in the principality
February: to be decided.

Hi Carl,
Probably won't be able to make the November one, already have the Tyne tour and the Washburn planned and I'm on holiday at the end of Nov.
Will the December one be in the 2nd weekend of the month, be interesting if it's for the day after our Christmas do
No plans for Jan and start of Feb at the mo tho |

Also down for Tyne tour so I'll have to toss up between the Washburn and Halton rapids. The weekend of 21/22 will definitely be out for me.
Lakes should be good in December, maybe there will actually be enough water for the Rothay. The Leven would be a good fallback so long as we get out before Backbarrow. The Crake is good but you have got to do the Grade III section and there is no inspection or portage possible.
Also a good idea to try something new in Wales, although we could combine JJ's with a tail-to-town run (you know you want to, Carl). 23/24 January is another no-go for me.

Bring it on!
PS got a bit out of sync with may dates, November is pretty much fully booked so Halton Rapids would be later, we could do this early on weekend morning some other time if we wished. |
