Steve

is it possible you can bring a spare boat for me for someone who is 6ft tall with long legs.
If not I will bring my aproach 10 but I think it will be to big for the river.

Thanks

Dave

Sounds like the H3 will do and I'll either take that along or have a word with Darren as there's a chance I won't be paddling this week.

The Approach might do so long as he doesn't want to turn any corners(!)

Given that it's going dark early now (this week sunset will be 19:38 ). It might be an idea to get there as early as possible for the next couple of weeks, and to be fairly snappy about getting onto the water and moving down the river. Also to exercise a bit of common sense regarding a time to get off, which will have to bear in mind the presence of any novices.

Anyone turning up later knows where to find us.

Later today, I will hopefully be able to confirm a date for the first of this winter's pool session.

With the interest expressed in doing the 2 star, is there scope for hiring the pool with floodlights and getting the canadian out?

Dave - My kayak is avaikable if your mate wants to use it - is he as tall and lanky as me? Darren could pick it up.

Carl - just phone Burrs (0161 764 9649 - the manager is Denise - mention my name) to book the pool and lights but I guess they will charge us £20 per hour. It would be a good idea as there is no rain forecast for the next 7 days and any that is in the river now will be falling quickly. Tonight with a lightly overcast sky it was dark at 8.25 and next week it will be 15 minutes earlier.

Celine Dion.
Every time we try to use the pool she turns up and starts warbling on until all the boats sink. It's pointless trying to do anything without getting her out of the way first.

I probably will turn up Wednesday but I'll have Conor with me and if it rains tomorrow it'll be too high for him so we'll be on the side offering "encouragement". I'll take the H3 and a set of gear anyhow.
