Whilst on holiday last summer we discovered across this canal with a series of waterfalls that looked "canoeable" for those paddlers with a sense of adventure.

The actual location was near St. Remy de Provence

Comments please

Firstly I would check the depth at the bottom of the fall, then check downstream to see what else might be hazardous and have a good look to see how retentive the stopper was or whether there was any undercut. It's always worth checking guide books, or asking local paddlers for any more information. Then maybe set some safety up below the drop.

Then I'd tell one of the novices it was OK and send them over first, just in case.
(Only joking - I'd send Carl).

You can now buy kayak helmets with a 'brain-off' switch located at the back, I use mine often and would love to do the fall.

Carl

ps, I sometimes forget to switch my brain back on again

Lisa

That would be funny if I didn't know it was true!
