At the end of what had been a long shuffle with the odd bit of water in between I was feeling rather tied. However, we had reached the campsite and the water was warm, so I thought it would be a good idea to do some rolling exercises, like we do in the pool. I turned over and decided to spin my paddle above my head. However, just at the point that I was running out of breath my paddle got caught in something and I was unable to roll. I thought it would be a really brilliant idea to do some deep water rescue skills, so bailed. I can't bring myself to describe what happened next and am only glad that Steve's camera did not pick any of it up. Having arrived home I did some research and came across the following article, was it really a killer clam that had got hold of me?

Okay, so my paddle got caught on my boat and I was too tied and had no breath left. The idea of killer clams in the Ure originated later that night after a few beers.
