Sorry Guys but I injured my back last week whilst on holiday and I won't be able to paddle for several weeks including the Tryweryn.
I was cycling on the Coast to Coast from Whitehaven to Newcastle and had just completed the second day at Penrith. A nice looking cake shop beckoned, I got off my bike to cross a busy town centre road and the next thing I knew I was partially paralysed from mid back downwards!
Some nice guy phoned 999 and I had my first ever ride in an ambulance! Turns out that I have an acute back spasm (medical jargon). I am on various medication and have been told to lie on my side. A first visit to the physios beckons on Thursday and then complete rest for a week or so.
It's a lousy excuse to miss going back to school! Sorry Carl and Theresa!
I am going to umfortunately miss the Tryweryn swimming tour but am willing to act as Sweep Stake Master - phone BETGRAHAM to place your money on the most spectacular swim - only joking!
No flowers please but chocolates and cakes more than welcome!!
