October could be quite busy but this might interest some - just over half a Liffey Descent so could be good training.

Mersey Descent Race 11th October 2009.
A 9 mile down river race with classes for K2, K1, River Racer, Open Canoe and GP kayak. The river has one sloping weir that may have to be portaged at high flow and 12 small rubble weirs shootable at any flow.
We are looking for the first paddler to break the one hour record.
