There was pub talk last night about having some type of Christmas get together. There is a risk that if we're not careful we could start to look like a proper club. The ideas were either a meal somewhere or going on the razz round Manchester. Or both.
A crawl round Manchester can organise itself, but if we're having a meal then we probably need to sort something out soon. Suggestions included Smithills Coaching House in Bolton, the Chinese in Westhoughton, or an Indian somewhere.
Since this another new venture which hasn't happened for some time, if at all, it's probably best to see what members want to do.
Do you want to go for a meal, if so have you any preference or is there anything you definitely don't like?
Would you like to bring along a partner?
Any other suggestions for a venue?
Any dates you definitely can't make?
Weekend or weekday? (or do we bin a Wednesday pool meet?)
and ...
Any volunteers to organise it?
Thoughts below please.

Morning All
My friend owns a Thai restaraunt in manchesters china town (Royal Orchid) the food and venue are fantastic. He usualy gives me 25% discount and throws the wine in free. My wife for one would love to be included but I will go with whatever is decided.
Its just one option but let me know what you think.

Hi Steve
If we choose that option I can sort it, lats xmas we started at 7.00pm everybody from work did a pub crawl round the european market at albert square and the local puds, then to the restaraunt for 10.00 for food and drink. As usual we were the last to leave the owner and 1 of the bar staff stayed and the rest off his staff went home.
It was a fantastic night.

Sounds good Dave, especially if we can blag a few free drinks!
Only a couple of dates I can't do at the mo (am guessing we're talking about a Friday or Saturday night?)
Can't do weekend 27th / 28th November or the 19th December. |

The Thai restaraunt sounds like a good idea. to be honest though i will join in where ever the club wants to go. I also think it would be a good idea on partners coming, yes! i know mine is already there but if he wasnt i would want him to come.
The only dates i wont be able to do in December is 4th-6th, 12th.
I should be free all November.

Brilliant idea - my only thought is do all members enjoy Thai or Indian Food? Anne and myself would be interested.
Combining an evening with the European or XMAS markets in Manchester also good thoughts.
We could also present the proposed new award then.
What about younger club members?

I'll also go with the flow with whatever is arranged (Thai sounds good though!)

Hope you get better soon Graham, do I count as a younger club member???
Actually Tarzan, I ONLY have two more weeks holiday left for the whole of the rest of the year! I'll be away 21st November for a week, so early December would be good. Festive curry is always a classic, as long as there are no sprouts involved! |

I have spoken to my friend, He says because it will be a large group it would suit him if it was a friday. let me know available nights and who wants to go and who's partners are coming.
He says if we decide how much we want to pay per head he will arange a top thai banquet I suggest £25.00 per person.
Hows Friday 4th December sound.

4th is fine by me. Bridget would love to come along.
The only Friday I can't do is 19th (work do).
Ha ha, like that, it could stick.
(Mel - you're younger than me if that helps.)

4th December is OK, £25.00 sounds good and it'll just be me.
Think that's everything! |

Hi
Unfortunatly myself and Phil can not make the 4th as Phils dad is up from Weymouth and it is his birthday that day.
We can do any other Friday in December but not the 4th as we dont get to see Phils dad oftern.
Sorry if i have messed things up.
Regards
Lisa
