Another great turn out tonight for the club tonight, including some new faces, I think everybody came of the water happy, The river was at a nice friendly level and it was possible for us all to play at every spot.
We all shot the weir which was great as usual, then we had a play in it surfing across both with and without paddles. Followed by a quick go at how many paddlers can you get surfing one weir. During which Myself and phil got slightly distracted. Then we moved down river trying to improve on our break in and outs. We surfed every wave we could find which was good fun and I even managed to stand my boat on its end at the squirt spot resulting in me capsising and completing my first roll in anger on moving water (very impressed with myself).
Then continued down river to catch the rest of the group up and play who can stay on the bottom wave the longest.
All together another fantastic night with a great bunch of people, Rounded of by some classic quotes from phil (not to be repeated)

Yes, another great night out, a bit of a contrast from last week's adrenaline run. Our two newcomers, Helen and Alison, seemed to enjoy themselves (Hi if you're reading this) as they extended their flat water experience to the river. Fiona was back on form shooting the broken weir and surfing every wave she could find. As has become usual, we finished by surfing the last wave three or four at a a time as the light started to fade.
All followed by a pleasant pint in good company sitting outside the pub on a balmy evening.
Life is good. More of the same next week.
Steve
